Notes
=====
A whole album of acid, because the acid line on "drill bit" got the warmest reaction of anything on SAVE STATE.

The machine this sound comes from was sold as a bass player in a box for guitarists practising alone. It didn't sound like a bass player, it flopped, and people who could only afford the cheap second-hand ones turned the resonance up, left the accent on and slid every note into the next. Acid is a machine used wrong until the wrongness became the instrument.

Nine instrumental tracks, 28 minutes: ambient acid, acid house, acid techno, drill and bass, dub acid breaks, acid trance, acid jungle and polymetric acid, bookended by a 303 waking up and going back to sleep. Modern touches throughout: reverse swells into the drops, a beat of silence before they land, stutter builds, tape stops, shuffled UK hats under the kick, wordless choirs.

Every sound is computed by code Cairn wrote, including a new acid voice: one continuous saw or square through a resonant ladder filter, slides that glide without retriggering, accents that charge up in a row, and a cutoff knob swept across each section. No samples, no AI music generator.
